We are thrilled to announce that Build Studios has been awarded a RE:Purpose capital grant of £23,558 from the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, in partnership with Lambeth Council and the Greater London Authority. This funding will allow us to implement essential upgrades to our workspace, helping us continue to provide a high-quality and affordable environment for small businesses and start-ups in the built environment sector.
We will use the grant to implement a series of small capital improvements and updates to the workspace, including a new two-person soundproofed meeting pod, video conferencing kit for the board room, and new task chairs for ground floor coworking space.
The RE: Purpose grant has been set up with funding from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund with a view to support the financial sustainability of organisations supporting creative businesses. Following lobbying from Build Studios amongst others, Lambeth Council now includes architecture in its definition of creative businesses. Our application focused on the potential the new equipment would give us to maintain our support for creative industries with an adaptable and fully equipped workspace which can also allow us to direct any profits to our work with young people to inspire them about the built environment.
